Salsa Introduces the All-New 32-inch Fargo Adventure Bike at Sea Otter Classic 2026

Instructions

Salsa Cycles has officially launched its revamped Fargo adventure bike, featuring a groundbreaking 32-inch wheel design, at the recent Sea Otter Classic event. This highly anticipated model is poised to redefine the adventure biking landscape with its innovative features and versatile design, with availability slated for Fall 2026.

The updated Fargo will be offered with a choice of robust steel or lightweight titanium frames, each complemented by a high-performance carbon fork. A key highlight of this release is the introduction of 32-inch wheels, which, according to Salsa, are engineered to provide enhanced rollover capabilities, superior grip, and improved momentum across varied terrains, including mixed surfaces. This design aims to deliver a faster and more efficient riding experience for long-distance, self-supported bikepacking adventures. Unlike some other brands that limit their 32-inch models to taller riders, Salsa's new Fargo will cater to a broad spectrum of cyclists, offering sizes from small to extra-large, accommodating riders from 5'2" to 6'7". Furthermore, the bike's compatibility with both flat and drop handlebars ensures adaptability to different riding styles and preferences.

Technical specifications of the new Fargo include a 67° headtube angle and a 75° seattube angle. It will come equipped with fixed UDH Alternator plates, providing 482mm chainstays, with an option for adjustable chainstay lengths from 465mm to 482mm through aftermarket components. The display model at the Sea Otter Classic showcased a carbon fork, Teravail Circos Wide TR rims with Berd cable spokes, and Teravail Cannonball 32x2.2" TR tires. The frame's ample tire clearance also allows for the use of larger 32x2.4" Camrock tires. The showcased build featured a premium SRAM Eagle Transmission 1987 Collection drivetrain and a dropper post, though these specific components are not standard. Initially, only framesets, including the carbon fork, will be available, along with 32-inch wheels and tires from Teravail, requiring riders to collaborate with local dealers for complete bike assemblies.

This innovative step by Salsa, embracing the 32-inch wheel size for adventure cycling, underscores a commitment to pushing the boundaries of off-road exploration. By offering a bike that promises enhanced performance and broad rider accessibility, Salsa inspires a future where more individuals can confidently embark on extensive, self-supported cycling journeys, fostering a deeper connection with nature and personal endurance.
